Vaginal Health Concerns

For women experiencing recurrent or persistent symptoms that haven’t resolved with standard treatment.

When standard care isn’t enough

A more focused approach to Vaginal health

For some, symptoms improve — but then return.

Consultations are designed to allow a more thorough assessment for Women experiencing ongoing or persistent symptoms.

Care is provided by an experienced Nurse Practitioner with advanced postgraduate training, including Human Microbiome science.

For contraception, STI screening and treatment, men’s sexual health, PrEP, and standard consultations, care can be accessed through Abby Health, where Kylie also consults.

Symptoms that Improve… then return

For some women symptoms can become ongoing or recurrent, despite treatment. These patterns may be associated with changes in the vaginal microbiome — the protective balance of bacteria that supports vaginal health.

Care focuses on identifying contributing factors and supporting long-term vaginal health and may include conventional medical treatment where appropriate, alongside integrative strategies aimed at supporting the vaginal microbiome and improving longer-term outcomes.

Recurrent Thrush

Symptoms improve… then return.

Recurring thrush can be frustrating and often returns soon after treatment.

Care looks beyond individual episodes to explore factors that may contribute to ongoing Candida overgrowth, including hormonal influences, microbiome disruption, antibiotics, and lifestyle factors. Care may include targeted treatment alongside support for restoring a healthy vaginal microbiome.

Bacterial Vaginosis (BV)

Symptoms may improve… then return.

Bacterial vaginosis occurs when protective lactobacillus bacteria are disrupted, allowing other bacteria to overgrow.

Care looks beyond individual episodes to explore factors that may contribute to ongoing imbalance, including microbiome and hormonal influences.

Care may include targeted treatment alongside support for restoring a healthy vaginal microbiome.

Recurrent UTI

Symptoms improve… then return.

Recurrent urinary tract infections may be linked to changes in vaginal microbiome balance. Care looks beyond individual episodes to explore contributing factors, including microbiome disruption, hormonal influences, and sexual health factors.

Care may include targeted treatment alongside support for restoring a healthy vaginal microbiome.

• recurrent thrush (Candida)
• bacterial vaginosis
• vaginal irritation and discharge
• recurrent urinary tract infections

Our consultations

Our consultations go beyond quick appointments that simply treat symptoms.

Many women experience recurring vaginal or urinary symptoms that return despite treatment — often because the underlying causes haven’t been fully explored.

Our approach is designed to take the time needed to understand what’s really driving your symptoms.

Rather than a brief 6-10 minute appointment, consultations focus on thorough assessment, personalised care, and identifying the root causes of recurrence.

During your consultation we may explore:

  • Your symptom history and recurrence patterns

  • Hormonal influences including contraception, menstrual cycle

    and menopause

  • Microbiome health and factors that disrupt vaginal balance

  • Lifestyle, medications and past treatments

  • Risk factors for recurrent thrush, bacterial vaginosis, UTIs & STI's
